I walked in and the salon was awesome! Aveda products nicely displayed  and coffee and tea in the waiting area. The receptionist was so friendly! She even asked if there was anything I would like to drink and brought me iced water. She even had a few feather extensions in her hair. Brittany brought me to her chair and showed me the selection of feathers she had. I’ve never done this before so I didn’t really know what I wanted. Brittany was so nice and excited and she helped me pick out a few combinations. It took her about 10 minutes and she was done.

I’m going back in a few weeks to get highlights, but so far this place was awesome. I would recommend this place based on my 15 minute experience alone. I’ll be writing another review after my highlights!

…I am so glad I did!!

I came in with a picture of a haircut I liked and walked out with exactly what I wanted. In my opinion it  takes a true artist to be able to accomplish that. Nicole takes her time and you leave feeling pampered and beautiful. And to top it off she is sweet as can be. She is relatively new in the area so it is pretty easy to get an appointment quickly with her but my guess is that won’t last long.

Other pluses… The sinks are some of the most comfortable ones I have ever had my hair washed in. No neck craning. They use all Aveda products which smell great and of course are plant based and environmentally friendly. They offer you tea while you are waiting. Parking is plentiful.

aveda-hair-weddingThe salon is a treat to the senses: adorable, smells great from all the aveda products … it even sounds happy.  The staff are all fantastic and I always come in feeling welcomed and leave feeling pampered.   In addition to my regular brow waxing, I’ve come here for hair, special occasion makeup and  facial treatments (ahhhhhh) and it’s all been spectacular.   An absolutely gem of a salon hiding in a business park in Sorrento Valley!

Staff is great. Location is awesome if you work in UTC/Sorrento Valley/Carmel Valley/Mira Mesa/Miramar, etc. Carina is the best stylist that I’ve seen from NY to CA, she is fabulous and really great pricing. Incredible job with colors and her cuts get me more compliments than every other stylist I’ve seen combined.Nicky is a kickass esthetician– great facials, great eyebrows!

You must give it a try, because after that you’ll be hooked.

The stylists at Mermaid are incredible with color, whether you want subtle or over the top.  I’ve been going to Kim Lilly for several years and she is always right up with the latest trends and eye-catching styles. What more does a gal need?  Great style, great prices, great products.

I recently moved to San Diego and only happened to see this place because my job put me up at the hotel across the street during my interview process. Had my hair cut by Mel and it was the first time in as long as I can remember that I actually LIKED the results! Usually when I get my hair cut short I end up looking like a soccer mom when I leave the salon because they want to make it so poofy, but Mel gave me a nice sleek look. I’ve gone back to her twice more now and I will never let anyone else touch my hair!   :)
